I merged all of my old Squeezing The Dummy posts onto this site, so you can now read them in my archives (or under appropriate tags). If you never read Squeezing The Dummy it was my first blog that I started over 5 years ago. I was not as good then, but I tried harder, and in general I think I had some good content.

On that note I’m thinking of taking an old post that I now disagree with myself about and dissecting where I went wrong.

Bridge improvement is like getting taller as a kid, it happens slowly but then all of the sudden you wake up and realize you’ve grown 6 inches in the past year. I’d say if you can’t look back at your views 5 years later and realize some of them were wrong, then you are probably not working hard enough at improving your game (or you are delusional). The great thing about bridge is that unlike height, you never stop growing, and there is no maximum potential.

I’m experimenting with ways to post full deals and half deals. I used to basically never post a full deal, and when I posted defensive hands I would just show you your hand at the beginning of the post, followed by dummy later, and you’d have to work it out. For declarer play hands I just posted the hands vertically.

I realize for some people this may be hard to follow, so I’m trying the BBO screenshot method, and possibly some of the online templates for bloggers. Let me know what you like best and I will keep that style consistent throughout the blog.

Well, I’ve only had the idea of this site for almost two years but better late than never right? I am really excited about some of the features that this site has, so let me explain.

Blog- This will usually contain short posts, possibly non bridge related. Basically it’s my blog and I’ll post what I want to (you would too…)

Articles- This will be where my longer and more in depth bridge stuff goes. Readers of my old blog will be accustomed to me cranking these out at a fast rate, but that won’t happen anymore. Think something like once a month… quality over quantity. I will put my best stuff from Squeezing The Dummy on this site also.

Ask Justin- The idea here is simple, you write me questions and I answer them. I think this is a great feature because I’ll be writing about what YOU want. I will answer questions of any level, and hopefully other people can benefit from the answers.

News- This will be for news about the site or news about me.

There is also a biography and information on how to hire me on the top. If you like this site don’t forget to tell your friends!
